Individual Counselling

Individual Counselling involves working on a one-to-one basis. I work with teenagers and adults. Firstly we would meet for an initial session (free of charge) in order to discuss your concerns and issues that you may wish to bring to counselling. During this session we will discuss any questions you may have and work out the best way forward, should you wish to embark on counselling sessions.

Sessions take place weekly, on the same day and time, although in certain circumstances sessions can be tailored to meet your individual needs, for example if you work a shift pattern. Sessions last for 50 minutes and I ask that you commit to attend on a regular basis, although breaks for holidays and personal circumstances can be negotiated.

I feel choosing the right counsellor for you is a very important and personal choice. Therefore I offer a free initial session.

Initial session free, thereafter the fee charged is £30 per session.

A limited number of low cost sessions are available for those in receipt of some benefits, e.g. incapacity benefit.

Couple Counselling

Couple Counselling is for any two people within a relationship. For example married partners, civil partners, same sex couples, couples, parent/child or siblings, (children are required to be teenagers plus).

Couple counselling is useful and effective in dealing with, and, resolving issues that arise within the relationship. By working together we aim to explore difficult issues that cause tension and arguments. We also explore boundaries and power base issues. We look at how outside influences and personal histories can affect the stability of the relationship. Through our work together we aim to improve communication and understanding between the couple in order to encourage growth and fulfilment within the relationship.

Couple counselling can sometimes be about the ending of one relationship and the beginning of another. Here the couple is encouraged to work through any outstanding issues and unresolved feelings, allowing the move towards separation to be conducted in an adult and amicable manner. A swift and peaceful transition is vital if children are caught up in the separation of their parents.

Couple counselling is NOT about apportioning blame onto any one individual. Any issues or problems that arise within the couple relationship belong to the relationship. Couple counselling is about understanding, communication, resolution and growth. Couple sessions last for one hour.

£35 per couple session (inclusive of initial session)

Company funded Counselling for employees

Company funded Counselling for employees is designed for employers who wish to offer support to their employees who may be experiencing a difficult period within their life. All too often the stresses and strains of home life can interfere with ones ability to work in a focused and satisfactory way. Equally the stresses and strains of work can interfere in a negative way in ones personal and home life.

As an employer you can make sure your employee has the support and understanding in place to help them work through issues such as:-

Work related stress, Work place conflicts, Self-esteem & Confidence issues, Relationship & Family issues, Retirement, Redundancy, Health issues, Depression and Anxiety, Bereavement & Loss, Addictions.

It is my aim to provide your company with the opportunity to refer employees to my counselling practice. I in turn will offer your employees professional and confidential counselling, to a high standard that is affordable and readily available. As an employer you will have peace of mind that your employees and company’s needs are being met.

Sessions are for 50 minutes and normally I offer sessions in blocks of eight, but I am happy to work out a package that meets the needs of your company and benefits your employees. My fees are very competitive with other private counselling practice fees and those charged by EAP’s.

A company funded employees Counselling block of 8 sessions is £280

Supervision

I hold a certificate in Person-Centred Supervision and offer Supervision to student and qualified counsellors. Experience has taught me that one of the most important elements of Supervision is the Supervisory Relationship. Just as in counselling the development of a healthy relationship is paramount to our work together. Therefore as a Supervisor I strive to offer a safe, non-judgemental, supportive environment, which facilitates the development of our relationship and enables self-reflection and learning for both Supervisee and self.

I am bound by, and work within the BACP Ethical Framework. Should areas arise within our work concerning boundaries, professional conduct or any ethical issues, I will work with you to reach resolutions in a clear and appropriate way guided by the above Code of Ethics.

If you require any further information regarding Supervision or my fees, please do not hesitate to contact me.

A limited number of low cost supervision sessions are available for student and newly qualified counsellors.
